My Picks for CHA 2012

Although I am not headed to Anaheim this year for CHA, I always love looking at all the Sneak Peeks from all the Scrapbooking manufacturers.  The place that I go to see what is new in crafting is The Scrap Review.  You can see all of the new releases for Winter 2012 Here!

So what will I be buying this year?  Here are my picks and faves...(note all images are from The Scrap Review that were provided by the Manufacturers)

Pink Paislee - I love what this manufacturer produces more and more every year...I think this will be my "go to" manufacturerer this year.

Spring Jubilee by Rhonna Farrer

She Art by Christy Tomlinson

American Crafts - I love the direction that AC is going this year with designer lines.  Again releasing another line by Amy Tan and Liz Kartchner.

Prima - I gotta admit, I am a bit of a Prima freak, and they can do no wrong in what they release, but I do have a favourite this time around which is Donna Downey's Poppies and Peonies line...I am drooling over the canvas sheets.

My Mind's Eye - Follow Your Heart Be Amazing / Be Happy by Rhonna Farrer - Again swooning over Rhonna's work...loved what she did for House of Three, love her Pink Paislee line and now for MME.  Yup...love love love!!

Other releases that caught my eye are:

Bo Bunny - Serenity

Hambly - Honeycombs - and they are releasing cardstock paper this year!!

Crate Paper - Storyteller & Pretty Party - The Vintage and Handmade themes continue, and I love the soft feeling of these paper lines.

Major Themes that I found throughout all the lines are:

Vintage / Handmade / Sewing - continuing from the last couple of seasons, vintage and all things home-y and handmade are popular with the manufacturers.  I am assuming these themes were influenced by the current economic environment / recession and an emphasis of being closer to home.  Also the resurgence of saving money by canning and making do with what you have influences from the depression and war-time years seems to be prevalent.

Flags / Bunting - again a theme that has carried through from last year or more.

Hot Air Balloons - I think these images are gaining in popularity.  Last year Graphic 45 and American Crafts had hot air balloon images, but now starting to see them in other manufacturer lines.

All Things Natural - such as Wood Grain, Butterflies & Birds are all over the place again...and I am in love.

Maps- are starting to pop up all over

Doileys- especially circular in shape and in different colours on one sheet of paper

Asian / Japanese influences - is becoming more and more popular with the little dolls, flowers and motifs

Roaring 20s - the flapper girls and other art deco themes are popping up little by little...I think this will be even more trendy next year as fashion is also headed towards more influences from the 20s.

Well that are my picks...what lines have you seen that you are excited about when they arrive in your favourite scrapbook supply store??
